Among dragons and drifting reefs, control is an illusion
Great stuff, Scott! And more motivation to take that first scuba class.
Thanks and highly recommend doing that!
I've wanted to visit Komodo for a long time and now feel the push to make it happen. Thanks for taking us all along with you.
Hope you can make the trip!
I get why slots and timed entries are needed. But I wish the world had fewer people
.
This takes me back. I visited in 2019 while on a sailing trip and had the best day of my life there.
3 dives. The first was incredible with a manta, turtles and sharks. Then on the first surface interval we snorkled in a bay with 7 manta rays.
Next dive, also incredible, tuna, a big school of baracuda, a wall of fish.
The surface interval - a hike on komodo to see the dragons.
Third dive was amazing too, don't remember the details.
There were rats in the streets and we had to use a local to get fuel since the price is much higher for foreigners, but that was part of the charm.
Glad you went, it really is an amazing part of the world. I didn't think about doing a surface interval for the dragons (but it makes sense as I hear it now).
